Katz Family Tops Family Competition of Winter Ostfeld Memorial! Brustein’s, Slavins, Huangs tie for Second,Third!
The Katz brothers Alexander, Nicholas, and Joshua scored 6.5 points and won the Winter Ostfeld Memorial family competition. Alex’s 3.5 points in the open section (he tied for first place in that section), and Nicholas’s 3 points in the same section combined for the family win, though Joshua did put two points together which were not added to the total since many families only compete with two individuals.
All three brothers get free entry into the next Ostfeld tournament scheduled for March 30th, and free entry into a Super Saturday tournament and a Thursday Swiss tournament.
The Brusteins, Dina and Roman, the Slavins, Isha, and Avi, and the Huangs, Henry, and Kevin, all scored six points per family and tied for second, and third place.
Officially the Brusteins were second thereby winning free entry into the next Ostfeld tournament and either free entry to a Super Saturday tournament, or a Thursday night Swiss tournament.
The Slavins though finishing in third place will get the same award as the Brusteins with free entry to the Ostfeld and either the Saturday, or Thursday tournament as well.
Finally, the Huangs tied for third will also receive free entry to the next Ostfeld tournament (scheduled for March 30th).
Congratulations to the families and see you all on March 30th.
