This program covers the basics of chess, including tactics, strategy, and the nuances of positional understanding. The class instructor will delve into more complex topics with those students that demonstrate an interest and aptitude for the game. Every class will have ample time for recreation and games with focused supervision from the instructor.

As part of the program, all students will participate in ‘an official’ unrated chess tournament. Trophies and medals will be awarded to winners.

Upon completion of the 10 week course, each student will be awarded a certificate of achievement.


Ages 5-7 meet from 12:00 PM-12:50 PM.
Ages 8-12 meet from 1:00 PM -1:50 PM.





Classes will be held on ten consecutive Tuesdays beginning Tuesday, March 5th and ending Tuesday, May 14th

There will be no class on April 16th due to our Spring Chess Camp at the ICA.

Classes are limited to 8 students per class.



$150 per student for 10 classes.
