Dr Ostfeld Memorial Tournament
Top Family Winners!

Out of nearly 200 individuals who participated in the May 5th  Dr David Ostfeld Memorial Tournament, 33 families competed for Top Chess Family.  In this category, we combine the top two scores of participating family members and award the top three winning families. Here are this tournament's results.

With the combined top 2 scores of 7.5 points, 1st place went to the Iyer brothers. Akshat competed in Section U1600 and scored 2.5 points, Ayush competed in Section 5 and won 4 out of 4 rounds and Aneesh scored 3.5 points in Section 4. Well done boys! For placing in first they each received a free entry to our next Doctor Ostfeld Memorial ICA Tournament and one free entry each to any Super Saturday tournament in Glen Rock.

 And last but not least, 3rd place went to the Katz family. Linnie and Michael (Mom and Dad), Alex, Nicholas, Benjamin, Joshua and Genevieve gathered their top 2 scores to produce 6.5 points and earned their place in the top 3. The entire family was awarded one free entry to any of our Super Saturday tournaments in Glen Rock.
 
We really encourage all participants to consider competing in the Top Families category at the next tournament by inviting members of your family to join and play! It pays! Rated or unrated, everyone is welcome.

Our next Dr Ostfeld Memorial ICA Tournament is scheduled for October 6. 2019.

4 Round Swiss System (Everyone Plays 4 Games)
Section 1: Open to players Kindergarten through 2nd grade
Section 2: Open to players 3rd through 5th grade
Section 3: Open to players 6th through 8th grade
Section 4: Open to All Ages!

First 8 winners in each section plus everyone with a 2.5 wins a trophy
Top 3 teams will earn team trophies (teams are 3 kids from the same school across sections)
