Posted: 10/15/2004
During the 36th Chess Olympiad taking place from 14 to 30 October in Calvià, Spain, more than 1700 players from around 140 countries will compete for the treasured Olympic medals.

Among the chess players in Calvià 2004 celebrities such as Kasparov, Judit Polgar, Alexei Shirov or Paco Vallejo will enthuse the 10.000 expected visitors. Ms Reding, member of the honour committee of the Chess Olympiad,  emphasizes that the celebration of the XXXVI Chess Olympiad in Calvià 2004 is “the symbol of the Olympic spirit in European territory.” EYES contributes with press work, information and promotional material to the event.
